Roberta's teaching and training philosophy is based on time-tested classical principles instilled by her early mentors mixed with more modern concepts of resistance-free training for the horse and rider. Roberta has studied for over 35 years with a number of prominent trainers beginning with hunters and jumpers and  expanding into western disciplines as an adult. She is highly qualified to provide Western and English instruction and excels in helping people overcome challenges with their horses.

Ranching and horses run deep in Roberta's blood. Her great Uncle, Stanley "Boots" Kubela was a pioneer in the Arabian horse industry in Texas and was responsible for the development of a noted racing and performance lineage based on his imported Egyptian stallion, Kontiki. Today, "Kubela-bred" Arabian horses are still sought after for the purity of their blood and their strong performance traits. Roberta has continued her family's involvement with Arabians by training and showing her two Arabian horses successfully with over 50 first-place showings on the Class A Arabian Circuit to the national level in western pleasure, trail, and hunter pleasure. Justabout Midnite, her half-Arabian tobiano paint, was named High Point Grand Champion by the Diablo Arabian Horse Association in 2002.

Roberta and husband Thom Reinstein manage the Reinstein Ranch beef cattle operation which also offers students and boarder’s opportunity to work cattle on horseback far beyond the basic “cow clinic “ offering. “Integrating riders into the working ranch aspect of the facility gives people a one-of-a-kind experience that’s incredibly beneficial to both horse and rider.” Says Thom.

Roberta can provide every rider with the proper foundation to become confident, knowledgeable and independent with horses. Her number one goal is to help people enjoy their horses safely. Once the student has mastered the basics, Roberta can support students who wish to refine and develop their horsemanship skills to a higher level, including competition if so desired. As a skilled attorney, environmental consultant, dance teacher at Las Positas College, and mom, her breadth of experience makes her uniquely qualified to teach from beginning to advanced students with patience, supportive instruction and a major focus on safety.
